Spanning from the prehistoric era to the present day, the Menil’s holdings grew out of personal and intellectual passions rather than encyclopedic ambitions. The heart of the collection is comprised of artworks and objects gathered by founders John and Dominique de Menil.
The collection continues to grow and now stands at more than 20,000 works. The Menil is committed to deepening relationships with artists in the collection and augmenting its holdings in ways that resonate with the sensibilities of the collection and the museum’s mission.
